State of the union
Greetings dog lovers,
I come to you to day with a heavy heart. With recent events and prevailing attitudes the visible dog world in America looks like a pile of garbage to even a casual observer. When people cannot discuss or even debate an issue realistically, calmly, and honestly those people would be considered uncivilized when they would resort to slander, lies, and filthy communication and personal attack, they could be seen as, savages. For the longest time we have heard the cry , don’t punish the good people because of the actions of the bad, don’t deny the responsible for the actions of the irresponsible. Anyone looking at this situation, listening to, or reading the comments coming out of the so called professional dog community would find it hard to determine who is good and or responsible.
The one thing that troubles me most is that most of these people own dogs and teach those dogs to bite. This should concern all of us in this K9 nation, if people can so easily go from loving dogs to hating there fellow man, this seems to be a recipe for disaster. Since it is impossible to determine who is a responsible individual and impossible to ensure that who is responsible today, will not be an idiot tomorrow, someone may find that it is too dangerous to allow this K9 nation to keep its weapons of mass destruction. I say mass destruction because as we all know dogs are taught to bite harder, deeper, and longer everyday, on training fields, and anywhere else that people can find to create these biting monsters, they all say that it is just good fun, but there is nothing fun about teaching dogs to destroy the human body. One can easily say that these dogs, our friends, are dangerous. And when looking at the mental condition and emotional state of the K9 nation could jump to the conclusion that someone should rest from the hands of these people, these weapons of mass destruction.
I would like to make clear that this applies to sport and personal protection alike. Professional or otherwise. It would appear that the solution , compromise, and the complaint lead directly to one issue, the bite. In light of the social fabric and the disregard for public decently it is irresponsible and should be illegal to teach dogs to chase and bite human beings. The law gives us only so much room in cases of bites, and since most bites will bring us to court , we should take a close and carful look at the room that the law affords us. That room is defense all the time. We know that dogs bite, our mothers and grandmothers have taught that to all of us. We don’t need to teach dogs to bite, dogs need to be taught and practiced in defense. Defending harth and home ourselves and our families, this is a noble and necessary thing to do. Anything else is the opposite and is left only to police and military, both of whom have adequate checks and balances, regulation. The civilian dog training community is headed towards regulation, wheather you like it or not, wheather you think you need it or not, that is what is in our future. safety first , the best bite is no bite, the bite is bad, ban the bite, all defense all the time, these are ideals and principles that we are proud to say began with the PPDA, but can be related too and adopted by many who have the same concerns as we, no matter who you are or where you are, regulation is coming, we believe the first target will be and should be, the bite. As long as anyone can buy a sleeve or suit and the public is constantly exposed to examples of chase and bite, this problem will never go away. Because of the lack of regulation, our friends, our pet protectors, have become in the eyes of many, weapons of mass destruction. Dogs bite naturally, the bite is only acceptable in your defense, stop teaching dogs to bite and teach them to defend.
Once I was asked, how do we change the back biting jealous nature of the people in the dog world, and my answer to that person was we have to learn to acknowledge and show respect for each other.
