A woman was jogging at 5:45 a.m. in a suburban neighborhood when a man grabbed her, dragged her behind a cement wall, repeatedly banged her head into the wall, and brutally raped her. The rape is the kind of story that makes women realize how vulnerable we really are. It makes us think twice about walking through a darkened parking lot, running a simple errand after dark, or jogging alone. We are targets everyday in ways we don't even realize.
Young or old, it doesn't matter
A good dog could of changed this entire story.
A dog who is rewarded and encouraged in its natural defensive protocol could have sounded the alarm long before anyone comes to the door, and could offer an effective challenge enough too discourage or deter the badguy, with proper defensive training.

Roswell man was beaten in home invasion
By Mike Morris/The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
11/30/05
A Roswell man was recovering Wednesday after being beaten during an overnight home invasion robbery. Jerem Andrew Sarab, 25, told police that about 8.30 pm Tuesday, someone knocked on the front door of his home on Terramont Drive. When he answered the door, a man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt entered and pulled a dark colored handgun, Roswell police Sgt. James McGee said. McGee said the victim was ordered to the back of the home, where a second suspect was let in through the back door. Sarab was taken to a bedroom and bound with clear packing tape, and the suspects demanded money and ransacked the home. When they could not find what they were looking for they began to kick and hit the victim about the face, chest and upper back. The suspects fled with Sarab's 1998 Mitsubishi Montero.
